I will present functional vessels that are made using a variety of construction techniques. I will talk about how I form ideas from drawing, patterns, my environment, and the process of making itself. Basic pattern making and the use of these patterns will start of the general information on slab construction moving into more complex combinations of patterned pieces joined with slabs shaped over simple bisque molds. These hand built sections will then be combined with thrown and altered pieces. This workshop will offer many different examples of building with clay in which both the hand builder and wheel thrower may enrich their knowledge.
