The Kiln Yard
Taos Clay offers its studio members the option of several different firing techniques. On property there are 3 electric kilns, 2 small and one large, a down draft Geil gas kiln, a raku kiln, a Manibigama wood kiln, and a charcoal kiln (our gas fired reduction induced faux boury box kiln). Off property we offer the opportunity to join our large community of wood fired potters who fire several Anagamas through out Taos County. In the Spring of 2010 we will be building a cross draft soda kiln to add to our already expansive kiln yard. There is also the opportunity to take part in seasonal salt-firings in my kiln off property.
